Making Disciples in Our Neighborhoods and Communities

Take steps of faith to share God’s love in word and deed with our community! A great first step is to connect with local ministry partners through prayer and giving time, talents, and treasures to one of our partners in sharing the gospel!

See the calendar of opportunities to serve below, as well as the full list of our local ministry partners. You may also sign up to serve using the form below.

How to Get Involved

Evening Chapel
FPC hosts evening chapel at Gateway several times each year on Monday nights. Come at 4:15 p.m. to help serve dinner and/or join us for a brief worship service around 5:15 p.m.

Weekly Volunteers
Volunteers serve lunch and offer a short devotional for both transients and program men at Gateway Rescue Mission each Wednesday. Most volunteers come once a month. We need volunteers who would be willing to provide a small dessert (store bought or homemade) for approximately 100. This could be as simple as several bags of cookies. Volunteers are not only helping serve the homeless but our help gives the Gateway kitchen staff a short break each week.

How does support for Mission to Jackson work at First Presbyterian Church?

One way FPC invests in the local Jackson area is through involvement with selected ministry partners who are supported through the Mission to Jackson budget under the guidance of our Benevolence Committee. We partner with these organizations through financial support, but also through prayer, volunteering, and other means as needed. Your giving is at work to fulfill our mission: “to glorify God by making disciples in our neighborhood, our communities, and the world.”
