We are so glad you are visiting FPC Jackson and cannot wait to meet you!
Parking
Parking is available in the lots on Pinehurst and Belhaven Street as well as along both streets. On Sunday mornings, you may also park on the side of State Street in front of the church.
Arrival Time
Our Sunday morning services are at 8:30 and 11:00 AM. Our evening service begins at 6:00 PM. It helps to arrive for worship services about 5 minutes before start time because that is when our ministers make announcements. Sunday School begins at 9:45 AM.
Location
Our address is 1390 North State Street. We are located in Downtown Jackson on North State Street between Pinehurst Place and Belhaven Street.
Teaching Style
We focus on exposition of the scriptures in our teaching from the pulpit. This means that our pastors work through scripture, viewing it as the inspired word of God. They explain the original authors’ context and intent and apply those Biblical truths in our lives today.
Worship Style
Our morning worship service is traditional. Services consist of congregational hymns, choral anthems, scripture readings, responsive readings, prayers, and preaching of the word. Our evening service is more informal, with music accompanied by everything from piano to guitar to mandolin. For a more detailed description of our worship style, click here.
Sanctuary Seating
Our sanctuary is furnished with cushioned pews. You may sit at ground level when you enter from North State Street or from Belhaven Street, or you may sit in our balconies. The balconies can be easily accessed from the North State and Belhaven Streets entrances. The stairs are located to the right as you walk in through Belhaven Street or to the left from the State Street entrance.
Bulletins & Giving
To help you prepare for worshipping with us, you can browse our weekly bulletins to get a feel for our order of worship each Sunday. You’ll notice that a regular part of our worship is the offering. Ushers pass an offering plate down each aisle during the service, but visitors should not feel pressured in any way to give. To learn more about giving click here.
Accessibility
We have a ramp entrance on Pinehurst Street. During inclement weather, we have a porte-cochere on Belhaven Street where you may drop passengers off in order to provide easy entrance into the building. For more accessibility resources, click here.
What to Wear
On Sunday mornings most of our congregation wears business or business casual attire. On Sunday evenings the environment is slightly more casual. At either service, please wear what makes you most comfortable for worship.
Walking In
We have ushers who will greet you and provide any assistance you may need to get into the building or answer any questions you may have about where the nursery and Children’s Sunday School classes are located. Anyone wearing name tags will be able to assist you.
