The Constitution of the Christian Faith

John Calvin said that if we gain an understanding of the book of Romans, we have an open door to all the most profound treasures of Scripture. This book is most certainly a profound doctrinal treatise. But Paul did not sit down one day and decide to write a textbook on doctrine. He wrote a letter to a specific church to help the congregation of that church face the struggles of living in a pagan world. Like those early Christians in Rome, we Christians today need to understand what we believe and why we believe it as we live in a pagan society and a fallen world. Everyone lives what they believe. If we don’t understand who God is and what He has done, then how can we worship and serve Him effectively? Join us on Thursday mornings as we study the book of Romans, often called “the Constitution of the Christian Faith”.
