SUMMARY:Student Choir Trip
DESCRIPTION:We are putting together our overnight trip to New Orleans to sing for the Grace Presbyterian Church morning worship service on Sunday\, May 25\, in Metairie. This trip provides the student choir a “thank you”\, an opportunity for fellowship\, and a chance to serve another congregation through the gift of music. Trip expenses will be covered for all meals and hotel. There will be no cost for students apart from a possible snack or souvenir if desired. \nTRIP INFORMATION We will leave Jackson on Saturday\, May 24\, at 9:00 a.m. and travel via charter bus to New Orleans\, where we will spend the afternoon at the National World War II Museum and on a New Orleans streetcar ride before we enjoy a pizza dinner and – if the weather cooperates – an evening swim at the hotel. On Sunday morning\, we will have coffee and beignets at the Cafe du Monde on the way to Grace Presbyterian Church. After singing for the service we will head back to Jackson\, stopping for lunch at Middendorf’s restaurant in Manchac – seafood\, salads\, sandwiches\, and burgers. We will arrive back at First Presbyterian Church before the evening service on Sunday. \nRESPONSE NEEDED As we are making reservations for the hotel and planning for admission tickets and meals\, we will want to get a count of participating students. If there are other student choir members that your student would like to room with\, please let us know that as well. We accommodate these requests as best we can.
