Fourth Quarter Programs

New Testament Survey

Fourth Quarter: April 3 – May 15
Location: Miller Hall

This elective, with guest teacher Dr. Guy Waters, will be an excellent overview of the birth and ministry of Jesus in the gospels, the ministry of the disciples, the background and context of the New Testament books, and the growth of the early church.

Dr. Guy Waters is James M. Baird Jr. Professor of New Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson. He is author of several books, including How Jesus Runs the Church and Facing the Last Enemy.

Families Count

Fourth Quarter: April 3 – May 8
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Location: TBD

Families Count is a family restoration and preservation ministry of Lifeline Children’s Services. The aim is to minister to the parents of children who have been placed into the local foster care system, or are at risk of entering it. This six-week, biblically-based parent education program is designed to meet the standards for state-approved parent education programs.

Your help is needed to fill the following roles:

  • mentor – sitting with the families during dinner and possibly meeting with the parent outside of class
  • childcare provider – from 7 p.m. – 7:45 pm
  • driver – We have a couple of parents who need transportation to get here.
  • greeter

To volunteer, please contact Jo Lynn at 769-524-5121 or jolynnm@fpcjackson.org.

Prayer Meeting & Bible Study
Location: Westminster Hall 204

Join this group in the vital practice of praying together for our church body and its ministries, our community, and our mission. Each week we meet together for Bible study and corporate prayer. The Prayer Meeting is open to all ages, and any specific prayer requests can be sent to prayer@fpcjackson.org.

Discipleship Groups
Location: Various

Our Discipleship Groups (D Groups) are our church’s small-group ministry, providing multi-generational discussion on Scripture, helpful books, or other relevant studies applicable to the Christian life. We know that many people walk into this big church and feel lost. These small groups provide a way to get to grow deeper in your faith, to know, and to be known. If you are new to D Groups, we’ll find a spot for you that will encourage and challenge you! Please email discipleship@fpcjackson.org to register for a D Group.

Children’s Choirs

Children’s choirs seek to teach our young children hymns and good worship habits. Four year olds through fifth grade children are welcome to attend. Choirs sing at various times in worship services in the year.

Midweek with FPCYM

Our Youth Ministry Midweek programs meet in the Youth House as well as the Baird Center Gym for Bible study and hang out time.
